Felling permits

Site maps, together with the volume calculation sheets and other documents, are submitted to the State Forest Service.

Having assessed an application, officers of the Forestry Supervision Department issue felling permits, which are valid until 31 December of the current year. Permits are necessary for the main types of cuttings (clear-cutting, shelterwood logging and selective cutting).

In case of intermediate (thinning or sanitary) cuttings, notification on the forest intended to be cut has to be submitted to the State Forest Service. In that case, no permit is required.
