Forest management plan

A forest management plan is the basis for organisation of forest operations: harvesting, reforestation and maintenance. Detailed descriptions of forest stands and their arrangement plans are presented in the forest inventory.

In line with the inventory data, clear-cutting, selective, thinning and other cuttings as well as cutting norms are planned.  A forest management plans also indicates necessary reforestation works, specifying the number and type of planting stock to be planted and areas to be left for self-seedlings.

A forest management plan is usually valid for 10 or 20 years. It is not compulsory for properties of less than 3 hectares. When preparing a forest management plan, it is often necessary to update border lines or angular boundary marks of the property.
